"Fashion has two purposes: comfort and love."

Jeans ~ New Look, Jumper ~ Vintage, Jacket ~ Topshop, Bag ~ Vintage, Boots ~ Primark

Last week i went up to London for the day and for once in my life all i could think about when i was getting dressed was comfort. I knew we'd be walking around a lot and i'm always complaining that i'm freezing anyway so i chucked on one of my majorly oversized vintage jumpers and actually opted for jeans rather than tights. It definitely turned out to be a smart move when walking back to Victoria from Soho in the evening. Jacket wise i couldn't resist wearing another of my Topshop sale bargains. I snapped this up for a meagre £12, it's perfect to chuck on over pretty much anything plus it satisfies my tartan cravings without being as OTT as my Henry Holland cape.
I didn't actually take many photos in London despite lugging my camera round all day so hence no London post, i actually took these the day after with my tripod and remote...i think i'm finally getting the hang of it although getting the angles and distance right still takes a bit of work so if anyone has any tips feel free to share!

The fragile, the broken, sit in circles and stay unspoken

Skirt ~ Topshop, shirt ~ Topshop, bracelets ~ Primark, bag ~ Walthamstow market, shoes ~ Primark

You know how as soon as you buy new clothes everything else in your wardrobe seems just kind of blah and then you end up only wearing your new clothes until you're fed up of them? Well that's kind of what's been happening with all my christmas sale buys right now. I must have worn this exact same outfit three or four times which probably makes me a really crap blogger but oh well. I'd actually wanted this skirt when it was full price so was chuffed to find one in my size for £15. The shirt was more of an impulse buy but it's so lovely and silky that i couldn't resist, plus it matched the skirt so i guess it was meant to be.
I did pick up a few more bits in the sale which will no doubt feature on here shortly. Plus i finally got round to ordering a remote control for my camera yesterday so i'm going to attempt some outfit photos with my tripod again this week, which should hopefully be a lot easier without having to run back and forth between shots!

Every rose has its thorn

shirt ~ H&M, coat ~ Primark, necklace ~ F21, boots ~ Primark, bag ~ Petticoat Lane market

I know i say it everytime but i really can't believe how long it's been since i last posted!  December flew by and it doesn't feel like christmas, my birthday or new years even happened...due partially to the level of alcohol consumed over that week i'm sure. I was going to do a bit of a round up of the festive season but it seems a bit pointless now that we're already a fair bit into January so i thought i'd stick with an outfit post instead, the first of 2014.

This shirt is another item that was condemned to the back of my wardrobe ages ago and has just been rediscovered. It's super super oversized so i have to wear it as a dress but i love how the oranges and reds match my hair (which is still in dire need of a cut!) These photos were actually taken just before i splashed out and treated myself to a new camera with my birthday money which means i don't have to keep borrowing my brothers. Plus todays my last shift at work so i'll definitely have a lot more free time on my hands so i really have no excuse not to blog now...although i do have to start job hunting again which is a bit of a bummer. I didn't actually make any new years resolutions this year but if i did i guess finding a job and figuring out what i want to do with life would be pretty high on the list!
